Library Membership & Rules

Membership

All students, faculty members and other employees of the college are eligible for membership of the Library. For students, the library issues 2 library cards per student on payment of Rs. 50/-. The cards are to be utilized for all 4 years of engineering studies.  On loss of a card, duplicate card is issued on payment of Rs. 50/- per card.

Faculty Members and other non-teaching staff have to fill a staff membership form .

The entitlements, in terms of the number of books that can be borrowed by the members, are as follows:

Library Rules

1Library rules should be strictly followed.
2Students should deposit their belongings at the property counter outside the Library.
3Log register  should be signed by patrons before entering and leaving  the  Library.
4A log register should be signed kept at the entrance of the reference section before accessing the reference section.
5Complete Silence should be maintained.
6Use of mobile phones in the library is  strictly prohibited.
7Library cards  are not transferable.
8The students are allowed to borrow 2 books for a period of 8 days. If the book is not returned by the due date an overdue fine of Rs. 5/- per book per day will be collected.
9The students are allowed to renew the books provided there is no reservation for the same.
10Patrons using the library resources shall be solely responsible for the safety and condition of the same.
11The students should examine each book before borrowing it and report to the librarian in case of damage.
12The books must not be marked or defaced or damaged or torn. The patron on whose name the book is issued will be held responsible for the same.
13Books meant for reference print journals newspapers and CDs will not be issued to be taken out of the library premises.
14Loss  of  book : Fine covering cost of book and cost of replacement will be collected.
15Photocopying facility can be availed only for library resources and not personal notes.
16Every reader shall present his/her identity card on demand by the Library Staff.
17No  eatables / aerated drinks will be allowed  inside  the library premises.
NOTEThe above rules are also applicable to the books availed under the book bank facility.
