ABOUT DEPARTMENT

Mechanical and Automation engineering careers center on creating technologies to meet human needs. Virtually every product or service in modern life has probably been touched in some way by a mechanical engineer to help humankind. Mechanical engineers analyze their work using the principles of motion, energy, and force—ensuring that designs function safely, efficiently, and reliably, all at a competitive cost.
In line with the vision of the department, the department has a UG program of 60 students intake in Mechanical and Automation Engineering with a set of robust core courses accompanied by industrially relevant, current electives like Robotics, Modern manufacturing practices, composite materials etc. The faculty of the department possess the requisite qualifications and are well experienced. The course duration is 4 years and there are 2 semesters in each year.

The mechanical engineer is perceived as one who is engaged in a diverse profession encompassing design, manufacturing, analysis, synthesis and optimization for a wide variety of mechanical systems for better comfort and survival of mankind. Hence, we in Mechanical engineering department at AITD envision to emerge as centre of excellence in Mechanical Engineering in the state of Goa and our nation moulding all its aspirants to be adaptable to the dynamic needs of society and innovations in mechanical engineering keeping the dignity, dedication and work ethic at its forefront.

M1: To offer an outstanding, professionally oriented and applied research reinforced programme that will bring a reformation in manufacturing industries and technical services in the state of Goa and our nation.
M2: To mould students into engineers of future on par with global standards in mechanical engineering with meticulous practical skills blended with sound theoretical knowledge in emerging trends.
M3: To transform young minds into citizens with strongly rooted ethics that will evolve the mechanical engineers as architect of a stronger nation.
M4: To provide an exposure to the emerging and innovative technology and collaborative research in mechanical engineering to strengthen the industry-academic partnership for the mutual benefit.

As more recruiters are looking for industry ready candidates, the students are provided with internships in prominent companies so that they are ready when the time comes to start their career.

The final year projects are pursued in association with industries by accommodating modern technology to help the students be up to time and motivating the students to take part in national level project competitions.

Entrepreneurship development

We help students bring their ideas to reality by guiding them in association with the business incubation centre in the campus itself.

Organizational and technical skills

Various events such as TECHURJA , enable the students to apply their Engineering knowledge & help the students understand event management and cultivate their alternate talents.
