The SENCES COUNCIL of ECE Department organized a 2-Day Workshop on “PCB Design and Prototype Development” for the second year students on 30th– 31st March 2023. Prof. Vrushali Prabhudessai and Prof. Darshata Satarkar were the resource persons for the workshop.
A total of 45 students attended the workshop. The students learnt the basics about designing a PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD using eagle software. The students learnt about how to identify the components based on the package as per the datasheet. The students learnt about the different tools available for designing the schematic, placement of the traces for efficient routing. The use of drilling tool was utmost important, so that the components can be properly placed in the drill provided. The creation of gerber files and g-code files to be uploaded on the PCB machine for the fabrication process.
Furthermore, the students were taught to fabricate the PCB on the machine using the MAC3 MILL machine, using the drills depending upon the operation to be performed on the board. Along with cutting of the circuit designed by them. As an exercise, the students were given a mini project to design their own circuit boards.
