One Week Induction Program 2022 for new admissions at AITD

Agnel Institute of Technology and Design (AITD) conducted an Induction program for all the students admitted in the first year of Bachelor of Engineering program. Its goal is to make students feel at ease in their new environment, to open them up, to establish a healthy daily routine, and to foster bonding within their batchmates and the staff of the institution.

Fr. Agnelo Gomes, Director, Agnel Technical Education Complex (ATEC) welcomed all the students and their parents to the institute and highlighted the growth of this institute since its inception in 2012, and how the institute is taking big strides in imparting quality engineering education to the students.  While Fr. Issac Fernandes, Assistant Director, (ATEC) blessed and encouraged the students to have a successful 4 years of engineering.

Dr. J. William, Principal of Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, welcomed all the students and their parents to the Agnel Institute of Technology and Design’s 2022 induction session. He briefed about the Institute’s vision, mission, and quality policies, and stated that the Institute is highly interested in engaging industry experts to help improve the teaching-learning process in order to match industry requirements with the help of the infrastructural hi-tech labs that are installed in the institute. 

Prof. Snehal Bhogan the HOD of Computer Engineering department gave an introduction of the department. She gave a detailed explanation on what opportunities the Computer Engineering offers and gave a briefing on advanced topics such as data mining, mobile computing, Coding, cryptography and neural networks. She informed computer software engineers can develop, design, test software as well as set up the networks such as the intranets for the companies.

Dr. J. William the HOD of Electronics and Communication department gave introduction to the department, he stated that the Electronics and Communication Engineering branch deals with Analog transmission, digital transmission, reception of video, voice and data, basic electronics, solid state devices, microprocessors, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits. He also said an electronic engineer can be placed in Consumer electronics manufacturing organization, Telecommunication industry, IT industries, Health care equipment manufacturing industry, Mobile communication, Internet technologies, Power Electronics, and other industries.

Prof. Gaurish Walke the HOD of the Mechanical Engineering Department gave an overview of the Department. He stated that, Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering, where engineers are involved with the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Mechanical Engineering deals with all aspects of the conversion of thermal energy into useful work and the machines that make this possible.

Dr. Sanatkumar B.S. gave introduction to the Basic Science and Humanities Department. He stated that the department focuses on delivering quality education for meeting the global challenges of science and technology. He informed that the Department of Basic Science and Humanities offers courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Environmental & Social Sciences and Communication Skills.

Prof. Shreedata Sawant provided an overview of FACT i.e the Gathering/semi-cultural event, Tech-Urja and annual sports meet for the students. He further stated that deserving students are honoured with certificates of merit and cash prizes for their outstanding achievements in various academic pursuits and sports. He also told that under the Tech-Urja committee, the institute organizes both technical and non-technical events.

Prof. Prathamesh Bhat the exam cell in-charge gave an overview of University as well as internal examination. In his presentation he explained the examination pattern and grading scheme to the students. He also explained the significance of term work marks for subject like Mathematics, Workshop, Physics and Chemistry Practicals. He further elaborated the importance of Audit course, Calculation of SGPA/CGPA/FGPA, Minimum eligibility for awarding Engineering degree, Current requirement of a Semester, Backlog and Block concepts.
