Although academics are important, having fun, discovering new things and learning outside the classroom once in a while wouldn’t hurt. In order to identify the hidden talents among the students the college conducts the cultural programs for overall development of its students in dance, music and fine arts. And FACT does it all here for the students at Agnel Institute of Technology And Design. We at AITD leave no stone unturned to reward our students for all their hard work and efforts put to keep our flag flying high.
The annual cultural festival FACT (FUSION OF ART, CULTURE & TALENT) is one of the most awaited events at the college campus. This year, FACT was held on 22nd & 23rd February 2019 at a much larger scale. The festival began with an inaugural function that was celebrated on stage, setup on the AITD ground especially for all the events that are to be conducted as part of FACT 2019. The backdrop was very much appreciated by all because of the hard work of the creative and the in-house team of FACT’19. FACT is a thoroughfare along which the engineering students are able to unveil their talent on the much isolated turf of performing arts. This is an event where students take a brief time off their busy schedule and strive hard to acclaim proficiency in the field of performing and showcasing their talents.
On the dais of inaugural function was the Chief Guest of the function, Mr. Ranjan Ojha CEO of Phonographic Performance Ltd, Guest of Honour, Mr Subhash Valawalkar, Proprietor agencia Silda and Walsons real Estate, DJ Shubham Raul, Dr. V.Mariappan, Principal of AITD, Prof. Laxmikant Bordekar, Registrar of AITD and Prof. Shreedatta Sawant, Student Activity Coordinator Chairperson. The function was attended by staff and students of AITD.
The principal during this function delivered the college report, detailing all the college has done and achieved over the past academic year. The dignitaries also in their address spoke of praise towards the college and enthusiastic cooperation between the students and faculties to shape FACT 2019.The inauguration concluded with unveiling of the first time ever customized FACT rolling trophy.
The FACT 2019 commenced with Rhythm (Singing) event which included both Solo Singing and Duet Singing that brought forth the best singers in AITD and got a chance to perform on the stage and entertain the audience with their singing, followed by Nukkad Natak(Street Play) event in which act on social cause was put up by the students which thoroughly entertained the crowd, Moot Court(Debate) event where the students placed before the audience their mind set on the given topic and thus defended their point of view, Mute Beat event in which students showcase their talent of creating instrumental sound by using junk materials, Rock Rumble (Battle of Bands) event in which various musical bands of the college got a chance to perform and set the stage on fire, Footloose(Dance) event which included both Solo and Duet Dance, the dance was choreographed by the participants themselves, FashP(fashion Parade)in which the budding models of the college participated and performed on stage and creating a lively environment, DJ Wars event in which DJ’s from the college got a chance to showcase their talents. Mr and Miss AITD was the highlight of FACT 2019.The offstage events was time lapse (Photography), Brush off the brush (face painting) and Kaleidoscope (movie making). The events were distributed evenly among two days. These all events were fought tooth and nail between various departmental teams to make it to the finals.
