Agnel’s Arena, Assagao organized their 1st All Goa 6@side futsal tournament on the 12th and 13th of November 2022. A total of 32 teams from all over Goa participated in the tournament. It was a 2-day event hence 32 teams were divided into 2 groups of 16 teams each. On the 12th early morning, all the volunteers/students came at around 8:30 Am to do all the arrangements.
Day 1: morning session started at 10 Am.
Father Agnelo Gomes and Father Issac Fernandes, Principal Dr. J. Williams, Advisor Dr. Mariappan, and other dignitaries inaugurated the tournament. A few words of encouragement were given by Father Agnelo Gomes. He also kick-started the tournament. The first match was played between AITD -A vs St. Sabestian Marna. Match ended as a draw with 2 goals each. St. Sabestian Marna won 3-1 on the tiebreaker. Morning session semi-finalists were Ruthvik boys.
Day 1: The evening session resumed at 3 pm after the lunch break of 1 hour. The first match of the evening session was played between 3 kings PNV vs Siolim United. The evening session was won by Siolim United. Day 1 ended at 7:30 with Ruthvik boys winning 2-1 over Siolim United.
Day 2: The morning session started at 10:30 am. Anchor Gaylene and Shaad took over. 3 kings PNV won the morning session.
Day 2: The evening session resumed at 3 pm. Tournaments’ special guests arrived at around 6:30 pm on the futsal ground. The evening session was won by Chad down FC. Semi-final took place at 6:40 pm between 3 kings PNV vs Chad Down FC. 3 kings PNV won the semis with 2 goals lead.
College football team students welcomed the guests with bouquets. Fr. Freddie Rodrigues spoke a few words before the final. Team captains introduced the finalist players and gathered for team photographs. The final match was played between Ruthvik boys vs 3 kings PNV and Ruthvik boys won the final by 2-1. The presentation ceremony took place on the futsal court with all the guests, players volunteers, and the organizing committee. Fr Agnelo and Fr. Issac gave tokens of appreciation to the match officials. The best goalkeeper was awarded to Sanij from Ruthvik boys while Dishu from 3kings PNV bagged the best player of the tournament trophy. The futsal manager gave a vote of thanks to everyone who helped successfully organize the tournament.
Fr. Andrew rewarded the runners of team 3 kings PNV with a cash prize of Rs. 15000/- + Trophy🏆
Fr. Freddie presented the Winners trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 20000/- to Ruthvik boys.
The tournament winded up at around 8:30 pm.
