ROBOCLUB of AITD in association with ASIER Solutions Pvt. Ltd. had organised a a 2-day workshop titled ROBOTRIX- Basic Robotics workshop under AICTE – Scheme for Promoting Interests, Creativity and Ethics among Students (SPICES) on 23rd and 24th September 2022.

The workshop commenced with the introduction of the speaker Miss. Sunaya Shirodkar and her team from ASIER Solutions. The two-day workshop started with the basic concepts and the components needed to design a robot during the first session. In the second half the students were introduced to the Arduino Microcontroller, its components and basic programming with a exercise on control of an LED using an Arduino uno along with explaining the contents on an Arduino board. Followed by a building and testing of Bluetooth controlled robot by the end of Day 1 of the workshop.

Day 2 started bustling with the same excitement as the first which included building of an Obstacle avoiding robot in the first half of the session. A lot of excitement and enthusiasm was seen among the students as they made the unprogrammed hardware-based line follower. Post lunch students made a programmed line follower and tested them on the track. Groups of 4 were made during the two-day workshop to inculcate teamwork.

The workshop taught students about creativity, teamwork and what they can achieve with patients and dedication. The two-day workshop concluded with the certificate distribution for the successfully completed students. A total of 52 students participated and benefitted from the workshop. Faculty Advisors Prof. Shiva Krishna J, Prof. Vrushali Prabhudessai and Prof. Diksha Prabhu Khorjuvenkar coordinated the workshop. Mr. Shamsulodha Samaniker welcomed the participants, introduced the speaker and Roboclub executive council members moderated the sessions.
