On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day the Women’s Cell at AITD organised two talks on menstrual hygiene. The event was attended by 30 girl students and 35 lady faculty. The event was held from 3.00pm to 5.00pm in the mechanical seminar hall. The first talk was on “A journey towards sustainable menstrual hygiene”. The speaker was Miss. Applesta Maryann da Costa, representative of Human Touch. She briefed about the various ways of maintaining menstrual hygiene. Menstrual cups were distributed to the students. The second talk was on “Menstruation and Aneamia”. The speaker was Dr. Sophia Rodrigues, MBBS, Gyneacologist at Manipal Hospital, Goa. She briefed about the various precautions to be taken during heavy periods. Haemoglobin check-up was carried out for the students and faculty at AITD.
