Students Council ACCESS (Association for Confluence of Computer Engineering Students & Senators) of Computer Engineering Department in collaboration with Institute Innovation Council (IIC), Agnel Institute of Technology and Design organized a seminar titled “Opportunities for Startups in Cyber Security” on May 31, 2022 for giving an eye-opening session on the various aspects of cyber security and the career opportunities for startups in cyber security.
The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Venkatesh Prabhu. Mr. Venkatesh is the proprietor of Thyway Creations – a media and technology solution company based in Mapusa-Goa. He has been a visiting faculty in the subject of Web Technology, HCI, Unix, and Problem Solving in Goa University. He has conducted various workshops on Unix and Social Engineering for the Indian Navy.
The topics covered in the seminar included the basics of cyber security, phishing attacks, impact of social engineering, removable media, passwords and authentication, mobile device security, public Wi-Fi. Mr. Venkatesh primarily focused on the various opportunities for establishing startups in the field of cyber security. The concepts for startups included security auditing, security monitoring, cyber forensics, incident response, network security, security architecture, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, etc.
The session witnessed participation by Second & Third Year Computer Engineering students.
