Globalization, Automation and rapidly changing needs mean the future of employment will probably look very different to now. With the explosively growing automation field, innovation in hardware, real time systems and new software applications the need of skilled engineers is also rapidly increasing. In this context, to make students aware of Industrial Automation tools and Placement opportunities in Automation Industries Department of Mechanical Engineering, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design-Assagao conducted an expert talk on “Industrial Automation and Placement opportunities in Automation Industries ” for Final Year Mechanical Engineering students on May 26, 2022.
Mr. Subodh Mone and our alumni, Miss. Sanjita Nadkarni from Autotech Technologies Goa were the resource persons. During the session the speakers covered the significance of Programmable Logic Controllers and ladder programming in Automation. The students were also introduced to Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) concepts.
Prof. Shiva Krishna J from Dept. of Mechanical Engineering coordinated the session and Mr. David Fernandes from BE Mechanical introduced the speaker. At the end of the session, students acquired the information of placement opportunities in the field of Automation in Goa and outside.
