Agnel Institute of Technology & Design inaugurated the AITD-ISTE Students Chapter on 18th March 2021 for the academic year 2020-2021. A total of 107 students from SE of three branches (Computer, ECE & MECH) had registered as the members of this chapter.
The Chief Guest for the inaugural function was Dr. Vivek B. Kamat, Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Goa and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Yadnesh Sanzgiry, Service Project Manager, Optel Group, Verna, Goa. The Inaugural function began with the Invocation of God followed by the light lamping ceremony by the dignitaries.
Principal Dr. V. Mariappan, welcomed the dignitaries on and off the dais. The chief guest Dr. Vivek Kamat inaugurated the AITD ISTE Students Chapter by unveiling the Chapter Certificate and handed it to Principal Dr. V. Mariappan. Prof . Nishant B. Mayekar, ISTE Staff Co-ordinator then announced the members of the chapter, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour handed over the appointment orders to the members. In his talk, Dr. Kamat stressed about the importance of associating with ISTE professional bodies and also the benefits the students can derive by being the members of such chapters.

Prof. Nishant B. Mayekar, ISTE Staff Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the Inaugural function. Then a session was organized for the AITD ISTE Students Chapter members. The Guest of Honour –Mr. Yadnesh Sanzgiry took a session on the topic “Engineering – A bridge between Art and Science. The speaker highlighted the differences and similarities between Art and Science and the influence of both on Engineering. The major takeaways from the session for the students were to focus on learning by applying the concepts to solve real time problems and not just depend on the conventional way of learning.
