The International Women’s Day Celebrations were organized by the Women’s Wing, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao on the 6th of March 2017 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
The programme schedule was as follows:
- Introduction and welcoming of the Guest Speakers.
- Talk by the guest speaker Mr. Sitakant Kamat on Laws on Women Safety.
- Hands on session by Mr. Sitakant Kamat and his team Mrs. Maya Kamat and Ms. Aastha Kamat.
- Group Game and other fun activities for students.
- Vote of Thanks by Chairperson of
- Game for students and faculty.
The event report:
The function was attended by 203 girl students, all women teaching and non teaching faculty.
Ms. Rebecca Mascarenhas, introduced the dignitaries on the dais and the Chairperson of Women’s Cell, Mrs. Novelty (Saanvi) Volvaikar e Morjekar and the members, Prof. Pramila Volvaikar and Mrs Trupti Gad welcomed the guests with mementos. The students gave the guests a floral welcome.
Mr. Sitakant Kamat, Guest Speaker and Resource Person of the day briefed the girl students and the faculty about the Laws on Women safety as framed by the Supreme Court of India. Later Mr. Kamat and his team comprising of Mrs. Maya Kamat and Ms. Aastha Kamat gave a hands on session on different techniques of self defence. After the session the students clarified a lot of doubts regarding women safety. The session was a very informative and practical oriented. There was active participation from the students and faculty.
Later in the evening various games and activities were conducted for the students.
The Women’s Day Function was concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Novelty (Saanvi) Volvaikar e Morjekar.
