Ms. Nidhi Gaonkar, Mr. Vedank Pednekar, and Mr. Sohum Bandekar, students from the Computer Engineering Department, developed and deployed an application called “SHABD SANGAM” at the Department of Official Language, Patto, Panaji. The project was mentored by Prof. Kedar Sawant and Prof. Ashish Narvekar. It aimed at aiding Government office clerks for easily getting Konkani translation of English words in the form of online dictionary. It covers translation in the subject of administration, political science etc. It provides option for users to suggest better translation of corresponding English word and allows admin to either accept the suggestion or ignore it. Most importantly the application will help Dept. of official language to incorporate other subjects word translation in the tool though ease to use interface.
